Great Lengths Hair Awards 2016

YOUNG ROSSENDALE HAIRDRESSER MAKES THE FINAL CUT IN “HAIR EXTENSION OSCARS”

Tufties graduate stylist Shelby is delighted and excited after being short-listed as a finalist in three separate categories in a top national industry awards competition. Shelby Jones, 18, is competing in the prestigious bi-annual Great Lengths UK Awards and has been short-listed in Classic Creation – Length, Classic Creation – Colour and the Best Newcomer categories. She will be hoping for the best when she attends the awards night to be held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on September 18th.

Great Lengths is the world’s leading human hair extensions brand. Launched in 2010, the Great Lengths Awards celebrate the crème de la crème of Great Lengths talent from across the UK. Designed to give Great Lengths certified salons and stylists the chance to demonstrate their creative prowess and technical skill in the application and styling of hair enhancements.

A team of VIP judges have reviewed all of the submissions to produce the short-listed finalists.

Carol Leo, Managing Director at Great Lengths said: “We’re delighted to have the 2016/17 Great Lengths Awards returning to our home-town of Leeds! We can’t wait to see what our talented stylists have in store for us, and we have no doubt that we will be blown away by the creativity and skill displayed. Winning one of these prestigious awards comes hand-in-hand with business benefits as well as peer recognition, so we wish the best of luck to all those getting involved!”

Shelby continues Tufties Hair and Beauty success at these awards with the salon having been finalists in many different categories since the inaugural awards in 2010, reinforcing the salons reputation as the best hair extension salon in the North West. In 2012 the salon won the coveted Salon of the Year Award and remains the reigning Salon of the Year as the category has not been competed for since.

Shelby Jones said: “I really can’t believe that I have been short-listed to the finals in not just one but three categories. I am really excited and can’t wait for the awards night on the 18th September. I really hope to win one of the categories but realise that I am competing against some nationally recognised hairdressers with decades of experience, so I am just really pleased to have made the finals”

Tufties Hair and Beauty Salon Director Victoria Jones said: “We are delighted and very proud of Shelby’s achievements in reaching the finals and that she continues to build Tufties Hair and Beauty’s reputation in this specialist area of hair services. She is a shining example of our young graduate talent programme which we invest heavily in as we are trying to give a real opportunity for young people to build a career within the business”
